Disregard Everything I say

Terrence McKenna said it first in a random lecture of his but it’s always confused me that this simple idea wasn’t in the popular culture. By far the most quick and efficient way to gain a sense of meaning in life even outside of psychedelics is to realize that your life is a novel in which you are a character and that every single event in your life is simply a plot element that you should be using to your advantage to make yourself worthy of becoming the main character instead of the guy who makes a brief appearance in chapter 2 and is never heard of again. The easiest way to do this is to realize that although you may be one of billions on a tiny planet your point of view is the entire perceivable universe and therefore you should never be self marginalized into becoming a mere observer of the world. You should be doing as much as you can, experiencing new things, being creative, talking to weird people and putting yourself into strange situations.

Shortly after accepting this model of reality very obvious plot elements will start coming into play, coincidences will begin to stack up in your favour and the people around you who don’t realize the truth of this will slowly fade into the background.

The bystander effect is not just something that applies to emergency situations in which people fail to get involved because they assume somebody else will do it but is a general theme across life that encourages disempowerment of the individual.
