Anonymous asked: I noticed you mentioned mxe in one of your post. I was wondering if you would recommend dissociates in general. Do they really resemble dream-like states that are worthwhile? Because the last time I tried dxm, I felt really dumbed-down sort of like being drunk but on steroids and that's not particularly something I enjoyed much.
Good question! I’ve spoken in detail about DXM before but not MXE and have been intending to make a post about it for a while now so thanks for asking.
For those of you that don’t know MXE (Methoxetamine) is a perfectly legal Ketamine analogue with almost no history of human usage. It is very available from research chemical vendors all over the internet and can generally be found for sale by simply googleing the phrase “MXE”. Although originally designed to be a legal version of Ketamine, this drug in my opinion stands on its own and offers an awesomely powerful and legitimate 5 hour trip without any kind of hang over.
Dissociatives are generally less safe and more addictive than psychedelics. MXE in particular seems to be quite physically benign for regular usage and despite the lack of long term formal studies many people have started using this drug in small but constant doses as an antidepressant for weeks on end without many signs of serious health problems.
MXE’s biggest problem is that it is too easy to do very often giving it a potential for addiction. Although probably benign physically if used in moderation, compulsive redosing has been a common problem for people under the influence of this drug so if you have an addictive personality or are still capable of falling into irrational psychological traps then you should be quite wary of this drug. If you keep your MXE trips to once a week this shouldn’t be a problem.
The “dream-like states” experienced on a high dose dissociative are incredibly powerful and take you to intensely vivid and seemingly real physical spaces and although not as inherently pleasing to look at as a psychedelic experience a dissociative trip goes just as deep into the logic defying as anything else.
The reason you only experienced a mere “dumbing down” on DXM was because you simply did not take enough.
You took enough to become detached, but not enough to become so detached that your brain begins to fill in the lack of sensory input with its own internally generated hallucinations, it’s when this starts happening that things start to get awesome. A universal rule for all hallucinogens is that if it wasn’t particularly impressive the first time, TAKE MORE NEXT TIME.
I’m a huge fan of dissociatives and the trip that both MXE and DXM offer so would definitely recommend them to anybody who is responsible enough to try them safely. If you’re looking for psychological insights into your own mind and a guarantee of physical safety however, I would stick to the classic serotonergic psychedelics such as LSD, Psilocybin, DMT, etc.
Happy Tripping!
