Speculation on how visuals and distortions are generated

Note: This is technically a repost but my understanding of this idea has increased so much since I posted the original sensory filter article several months ago that I had to rewrite the entire thing many times over.

I and others have suspected for a long time that during sober living a large part of what our brain does is filter out the mass of sensory data and self thought into a highly streamlined package of what the subconscious brain has deemed important and relevant to pass along for our conscious selves to be exposed to. This exists because if it did not we would be immediately and constantly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of raw sensory input and our inability to process it all causing us to be completely incapable of functioning. It’s because of this that we have evolved to filter out irrelevant information.

It seems to me that all visual and mental components of the psychedelic experience are generated by a very specific mental component of the psychedelic experience which is the partial or complete removal of this sensory filter and the increased input that results from this change.

A good example of this felt at low level psychedelic experiences is being able to look at a tree and comprehend the exact position of all of its branches in your visual field all at once instead of just the simple few that are in focus or being able to pin point every layer and tiny sound in a complex song.

But this sensory filter does not just block out irrelevant sensory input from being experienced but it also filters out irrelevant brain activity from the conscious faculties. This irrelevant brain activity includes many things such as the organization and firing of every neuron, every memory, every stored concept and every last structure of the mind until something such as a mind altering drug forces it to stop. In simple terms this means that closed eye visuals are literally the act of seeing the organization of our brain spilling over into our vision as the brain is chemically forced into revealing itself to itself.

This is possibly done through the way in which tryptamines bind with our serotonin receptors causing the circuits that they exist within to become over excited and to start sending their signals to our conscious faculties.

As a person is increasingly exposed to such things during a psychedelic experience the ego always proportionately goes down due to pure sensory overload and its this process that inevitably leads to complete ego death once a sensory filter is fully removed leaving the tripper exposed to their entire mind all at once. This is why ego death is almost universally described as being “one with the universe” because they are being exposed to every single subconscious structure, concept, memory, etc in their minds all at once in a single instance, this feels completely infinite in size when experienced but completely destroys your sense of self and your short term memory. This can be thought of as a set of scales, as closed eye visuals go up, the ego goes straight down and vice versa.

If this is all true then the function of Vibes can be explained, the reason every specific frame of closed eye visuals has a specific Vibe or stylized emotion attached to it that fits the current mood perfectly in a way that stems from the way it looks is because it’s simply a visual representation of your current state of mind and external sensory input.

Although all of this explains how closed eye visuals are generated and why it seems that our brain has a huge amount of impossibly complex geometry stored within it this is not everything as in my opinion the visual effects of a psychedelic experience can be broken up into two categories, the first is closed eye visuals and the second is distortions with the distinction being that visuals are complex and abstract geometry and distortions are enhancements of the external environment such as breathing, melting, etc.

Such distortions do not appear to behave in the same way as closed eye visuals and act as if they are generated by some sort of recursive visual looping within the brain which sends sensory input from the optic nerve into the processing faculties of our subconscious brain and straight back into the optic nerve. This continuously goes around and around with increasing inaccuracy until the loop is broken creating bizarre visual distortions that build up and up until the loop is broken by new visual input.
It’s because of this that distortions increase when stared at but reset when looked away from, because still out of focus eyes allow the loop to continue undisturbed but new input immediately breaks it. This is just like a visual form of the increasingly loud feedback you get looping through speaker systems when a microphone is placed near them.

I think the fractal effects found within visuals are closely related to this recursive visual looping. Fractals are generated by recursive formulas such as x=x2 type stuff. Therefore it would make sense that the fractals you see within the visuals are simply the looping effect being played out onto visuals instead of your environment, you are reinterpreting the same stimuli multiple times, causing the geometry to flower out into these fractals.

I am not 100% sure on this part but I suspect that recursive visual looping ties into the Sensory Filter because it is a runaway effect caused by the sensory filter allowing your visual field to be exposed to your very immediate short term memory and then the exposure of your vision to that exposure and so on. This builds up inaccuracies quickly and creates the looping effect.

In fact the more I think about the sensory filter the more I come to the conclusion that it is perhaps most important component of a psychedelic experience as it seems to me that it is the “base component” that leads to all others.
This is purely based on personal experience. I completely understand that this is currently just speculative and I’ve hardly tested it through scientific study because I am just a teenager whose taken a huge amount of psychedelic drugs and not in anyway an expert but I’d like to think that from my personal experiences with tripping and extremely basic understanding of how the human brain works this does seem to be how the visual components of a psychedelic experience are generated.
It’s worth noting however that I have absolutely no idea how the hallucinations and entity contact at the higher levels of psychedelic experience work at all (yet) and cant think of any way in which they could tie into the sensory filter as for now they are still a complete mystery to me.

The concepts on the chart below show what I’m trying to express and each part depends on the component to its left and leads on to the components to its immediate right. You’re going to have to click to enlarge I’m afraid.

Some useful charts.

The visual and mental components of a typical LSA trip

LSA, although well known across the psychedelic community has a pretty bad reputation for making people feel incredibly nauseous to the point where I’ve seen many people say that LSA simply isn’t worth trying but it is completely possible to eradicate all of the nausea using what is in my opinion the simplest extraction technique there is. It’s literally just putting crushed seeds in cold water and then adding garlic a few hours later and sieving it out. That’s the whole extraction technique and it removes all of the nausea, it can be found in more detail right HERE.

Headspace:

the headspace of LSA is much more subtle than that of most psychedelics but it is definitely there and feels like relaxed yet alert thought patterns combined with a greatly increased ability to visualize concepts. This leads to one extremely vivid day dream after the other that play out in a style unlike any other psychedelic that I’ve found, these day dreams eventually become intense enough to envelop the entire trip.

Bodyhigh:

The LSA bodyhigh is one of a pleasurable tingling and is more commonly found on higher doses. This tingling sensation is also accompanied by spontaneous mini rushes of euphoria and these become longer and more drawn out proportionally to the amount of seeds consumed.

This bodyhigh is accompanied by a feeling of wakeful sedation which can be described as a dreamlike state, all sedated however it’s worth noting that you do no longer feel sedated the moment you try to stand up or do things just ever slightly off balance.

Visuals:

The visuals on LSA are well known for not being particularly impressive unless a heavy dose is consumed. They are definitely present but do not become very well defined unless at least a strong dose has been consumed and can be described as finer and more zoomed out than other traditional psychedelics but just as detailed. In comparison to LSD I would describe them as quite similar but far less digital and vectorized.

Scenarios:

Scenarios are the main all enveloping component of any moderate – strong LSA trip and are completely unique to this substance. The hallucinations, entity contact and general scenarios on all other psychedelics that I have tried stem from the imagery within the visuals eventually becoming intense and elaborate enough to form into full on three dimensional hallucinations but this is not the case with LSA. The hallucinations all seem to stem from a state of wandering vivid daydreams that get increasingly intense. These scenarios have a completely different feel to them and can be broken up into 3 different levels of intensity:

  1. Vivid daydreams the first level is a state of wandering thoughts and extremely vivid daydreams, these are more felt than seen but felt in detail. An ability to visualize concepts and have them appear in your minds eye is present, these often appear as perfectly normal but other times they appear in elaborate psychedelic forms that are partially embedded within closed eye visuals and anything can be visualized be it people, places, objects, whatever.

  2. Murky breakthroughs - this second level is where things start to get really strange, during states of sedation trippers enter spontaneous breakthroughs into short elaborate scenarios. These scenarios can be anything but are often extremely nonsensical to the point that they are difficult to recall and translate into English but realistic enough to include sound and 3D hallucinations. These are just like intense versions of the dreamlike states experienced when on the verge of falling asleep.

  3. Defined hallucinations – finally on the third step these effects have become so intense that they become a full on psychedelic hallucinatory breakthrough similar to that of any visionary psychedlic. This can be described as the usual extremely intense psychedelic imagined landscapes, Entity contact, hallucinations and scenarios.

These scenarios at level 1 and 2 can be controlled simply by daydreaming in a way that I have not found on any other psychedelic making for a crazy sort of lucid dream / trip during these states of alert sedation. If practiced I am certain that the trip could be controlled almost entirely.

In Conclusion:

LSA goes just as deep as LSD, Mushrooms, Ayahuasca or any other psychedelic you just need to find the right dosage and extract it correctly.

Ego Death - What it’s like and how to function during it

What it’s like:

Ego death is the highest level of psychedelic experience along side Hallucinations and Entity contact and exists in different forms even outside of psychedelics that can be reached through sensory deprivation tanks, meditation or simply being asleep / unconscious as any loss of self can technically be characterized as Ego death but here I am only going to talk about the state of Ego death that can be induced by psychedelics.

A state of psychedelic induced ego death is reached when a tripper has finally taken such a large dosage that their sensory filter is at 0% and is therefore allowing every single tiny bit of brain function and sensory input to reach the conscious faculties regardless of whether or not it is relevant in an extremely visual and felt form. This includes not just the sensation of being able to comprehend the input of every single nerve ending across your entire body all at once but also the sensation of experiencing all concepts, memories, archetypes and information stored within the brain in a single instant giving an extremely profound feeling that you are experiencing the entire universe all at once forcing you to feel completely one with all of existence and this is often interpreted as a perceived loss of boundaries between your body and the rest of the universe. This oneness is so infinitely huge and profound that the people who experience it in a positive and safe setting almost universally report that it feels as if their entire life has been building up to this single moment and that they are finally “getting off the train”.

Unlike the feeling of being able to comprehend all of your sensory input this state of oneness is not 100% constant when reached but is rather something that happens repeatedly over and over again pulling you in and out of the room. Egodeath is triggered by the experience of a concept and the completely all enveloping runaway thought processes that ensue because of them. For example if you were to hear somebody say the word “internet” a runaway thought process would immediately begin as you experience all concepts attached to your idea of “the internet” and all concepts attached to those. This spreads outwards infinitely and quickly encompasses everything in such a powerful and overwhelming way that you’re ego is immediately destroyed due to sensory overload. Once this is over in 3 – 4 seconds however your ego begins to quickly restack and reform itself as you are placed back into the room, this only stays however for a very short time as another trigger is usually experienced instantaneously putting trippers into rapid fire bursts of not having any concept of the real world or anything in it. This experience of the entire universe typically looks and feels like an infinite sea of all enveloping fractals, concepts and non Euclidean geometry.

Learning to function during this state:

Due to the overwhelming nature of this state your typical person’s reaction is to immediately lay down and not even attempt to get back up until it is over as trying to function during this state quickly leaves most people in a permanent state of confusion and thought loops as they try to grasp what is happening to them but just as a baby learns to walk and talk so can we learn to function while being completely one with the entire universe.

Although this sensory overload completely envelops your ego and short term memory leaving trippers permanently stuck in the present and unable to remember anything from more than 1 or 2 seconds ago a persons long term memory is left completely intact allowing you to retain basic knowledge such as who you are and where you are but not anything beyond the most basic of conversation skills as new information becomes near impossible to store. Our long term memory being left intact during Ego death allows us to avoid a state of permanent confusion with some practice providing the person has already stored the concept of ego death and all that it entails into their long term memory before they begin to trip giving them the sensation that they know and have a basic understanding of what is happening to them but do not remember any of the unimportant specific details. This is enough to help avoid the commonly felt state of permanent confusion and from here you can begin to learn to walk and perform tasks in a mental state with capabilities somewhat similar to that of a very young child or an animal meaning only the most basic of knowledge is felt and understood during this state.

Despite the fact that your short term memory has almost completely disappeared however your memory of the recent past can be extended from the typical zero seconds into the past to 4 – 10 seconds into the past which is the length of a sober persons short term memory but only if extra sensory input is constantly experienced. For example if you keep moving around you find that egodeath only occurs once you stop and focus on a concept for even a split second and through this technique a constant source of sensory input can keep you in the room allowing you to walk, function and to eventually with practice: maintain a coherent conversation for more than 3 seconds.

The easiest way to do this is to constantly keep moving around with a spring in your step but it’s worth noting that the constant background stimulus of a strobe light such as the one found on this webpage here allows you to maintain a constant connection to the room and extends your memory field considerably.

Learning to function like this opens you up to all sorts of experiences based on sensations such as walking around and living in a state based purely on animal like reflexes and an infinite sense of oneness that seems to come so naturally to the human brain. The subconscious has no problem whatsoever with creating sensations that the universe is one ongoing intertwined process that we are not in anyway separate from and this is often felt as a permanent but subtle change in perspective that lasts a very long time even after the tripper has come down from the experience.

If you want to experience Ego death your best bet is to combine a strong dose of LSD and some good weed but Ego death can also be achieved through Mushrooms and other psychedelics in very large doses. Keep taking increasingly high doses and you will eventually get there.

“Disrespecting” the Psychedelic Experience

I’m pretty sure 99% of you will already agree with me on this one but judging by some of the messages I receive and the heated trollfests that I see quite often within my favourite online psychedelic communities there are an insistent group of people that like to push the idea of there being a “wrong” and a “right” way to trip and that it’s even possible to disrespect the trip through certain ways such as using psychedelics for purely recreational activities instead of deep spiritual journeys into the mind.

Now I understand that traditional shamanic psychedelics such as Ayahusca and Mushrooms are powerful ancient healers and should be treated with respect but if I want to watch Adventure Time and play videogames on a mind blowing dose of either then I will do just that, some people may prefer to be doing something else with their trips but to then assert that their completely subjective experience is somehow more valuable than somebody else’s completely subjective experiences is just plain retarded. Just because I am enjoying myself does not mean I am showing a lack of respect for anything.

Another way in which I have supposedly been violating the sacred rules of internet technoshamanism has been on this very tumblr as a result of the posting of simple and easy to follow extraction methods because apparently we should all know that these substances are a “calling” and if people truly want them they will seek them themselves and therefore to make it easy for people is to somehow disrespect the psychedelic experience. I honestly don’t see the point of messages like this as they seem a little silly. It’s not as if you were just sitting there and DMT called out to you from beyond the stars, no you heard about it through a friend or read about it somewhere just like everybody else. Making the extraction process easier so that people do not have to make sense of and browse multiple old forum posts that all contradict each other is not a terrible thing. In fact you could argue that since there seems to be something fundamentally wrong with modern culture and the only thing currently capable of fixing this problem on an individual level over a quick enough time scale to prevent us from collectively fucking everything up seems to be these very compounds it would have been rude not to post them.

These rules apply to all psychedelics but none more so than Ayahuasca which has many restrictions and practises attributed to it that aren’t really based on anything at all, these include but are not limited to:

  • You should never try Ayahuasca without the guidance of an experienced shaman.
  • You should never use Ayahuasca recreationally in any capacity. Ever.
  • You should never take preventative measures to remove the purge from the trip.

None of these are true. Although great care and caution should be shown until a user is completely comfortable with the powerful trip Ayahuasca has to offer a common sense approach and a sitter that knows what they are doing will make for just as safe a trip as any shaman from the rainforest.

It is entirely up to the individual and the knowledge of their own limits when deciding what they want to do with their trips. How some people manage to place completely arbitrary cultural constructs onto a group of substances that’s main effect is the removal of such things I do not know.

The last restriction that is placed on Ayahuasca is the stigma of removing the purge as many people feel that it is an intrinsic part of the trip but I do still feel that it is obviously not an intrinsic part of the trip. It is an intrinsic part of ingesting pulverised rootbark that has been simmered down into a foul sludge and nothing more. If this were anything but the case you would not be able to remove it with an extremely simple recipe change (adding eggwhites hurr) and Pharmahuasca users who take 100% pure dmt instead of drinking it in liquid form would also experience such intense nausea. I do not want to ingest wood I just want to ingest the DMT.

I am with these people to an extent and completely agree that these moments of recreational use are not exactly deep spiritual work or how I should spend every moment of my trips but as somebody who has benefited enormously from tripping on a very regular basis I sometimes genuinely run out of introspection and personal problems to solve and just want to have fun, this is nothing but a good thing and although quite difficult, interacting with a breakthrough partial egodeath trip by attempting to play videogames, going shopping or whatever the hell you feel like doing can be a pretty hilarious experience if you know your limits.

The subjective differences between LSD and Mushrooms

Although from the perspective of an outsider LSD and Mushrooms appear to have very similar effects on the human brain there are a number of very significant differences in the visual, mental and physical aspects in these three substances that make for very different experiences. It’s these differences that cause people to prefer one over the other and personally, if I had to choose it would be  perhaps Mushrooms for their deeper visionary states and more insightful headspaces because running out of introspection can eventually happen and cause one to hit what I call the “acid wall”.

Visuals:

When compared to the visuals of mushrooms, LSD’s visuals are generally described by most as much more vibrant, clean, digital, colourful, cartoonish and angular with bolder outlines. These visuals generally consist of very nonstop fast flashes well defined 3D and 2D geometric patterns with impossible complexity.
The thing that has always annoyed me about LSD is that although its visuals are astonishingly beautiful they are entirely lacking of deep visionary hallucinations and appear to be nothing but pretty patterns all the way up unless combined with other substances such as huge amounts of weed or other hallucinogens.

When compared to the visuals of LSD, magic mushroom visuals are generally described by most as much softer, less defined and rounder with slightly more earthy and natural colours. Its lower level effects such as distortions and melting are significantly more solid and a little more permanent, meaning they are more likely to stay if you look away from a distorted object and then back at it.
At higher doses there are usually large amount of visions as well as visuals. Visions differ from visuals as rather than patterns, shapes, colours and images they follow plots and themes that can be anything such as being thrust into outer space at extreme speeds, visiting alien lands or communicating with autonomous intelligent entities such as insectoid creatures, elves, gods and complex robotic machines.

The simplest way to put it is this; LSD CEV’s were generated in an advanced piece of vector imaging software whilst Magic Mushroom CEV’s were elaborately hand painted by an impossible artist.

Headspace:

The headspace of LSD although drastically different from normal waking consciousness is surprisingly clear headed and concise when compared to Magic Mushrooms. It greatly enhances your current mood and can be incredibly euphoric to the point where at the end of a hard day tripping your biggest problem is usually that your cheeks hurt from the amount of smiling and intense laughter that you’ve experienced.
LSD feels like entering your own mind and not an alternate coexisting reality and its overall theme is one of greatly increased interconnectedness of the mind with rapid firing profound thoughts and intense introspectiveness accompanied by a very short attention span.

The headspace of Magic Mushrooms is much less clear headed than LSD and has a very obvious stoning effect to it that can be described as vaguely similar to weed. This severely reduced mental capacity leaves for a slightly more confusing trip.
People often note that the headspace on Mushrooms feels much less like an intense change of perception brought about by ingesting a powerful drug and much more like being tuned into a different frequency of reality or in other words things naturally feel that they are that way because “that’s just the way they are”.
The overall theme of the Mushroom headspace space although also one of personal problem solving places much more emphasis on “outrospectiveness” as trippers often find themselves contemplating the society they live in, their place in the universe and many profound philosophical thoughts.

Bodyhigh:

The body high of LSD is my favourite body high out of all psychedelics. It can only be described as an intensely euphoric, energetic tingling sensation that encompasses your entire body. This body high is one that encourages movement and running around and is almost the complete opposite of the body high experienced on Magic Mushrooms.
It’s also worth noting that the body high of LSD through means that I am unsure of unlocks complete control over a tripper’s body. During an LSD trip many trippers usually find that they have complete control of the movement of every tiny little muscle throughout their body and that they can be individually moved without a trigger. It’s this aspect of LSD that can put people back in touch with the animal body.

The body high of magic mushrooms is an incredibly relaxed and lethargic state that causes a tripper to want to sit down on a comfortable spot and enjoy the trip. It can however be accompanied with nausea and stomach cramps that stem from the ingestion of the mushrooms.

Duration:

Although the duration of LSD is generally considered to be 12 hours I have never managed to stay up long enough to completely sober up and have always fallen asleep still mildly tripping even after 24 hours. It is also worth noting that the peak of an LSD trip comes and goes in waves giving the tripper little moments of sobriety throughout the trip. The long duration of LSD allows for an entire days worth of events to be planned around its usage and is something that is very enjoyable.

The duration of a good mushroom trip is sadly much more fleeting than that of LSD and generally only lasts around 7 hours. This does however allow for the convenience of a person to have an evening trip and still go to bed at a reasonable hour or for a morning trip if a person has plans for later on in the day.

Harnessing and Inducing Hypnagogic Trips

Hypnogogia is the mild hallucinatory state that we all experience whilst drifting off to sleep, although some naturally get it more intensely than others. It is the halfway state between waking life and sleep where small scenarios and dreams begin to play out as you drift off to sleep and shouldn’t be confused with its opposite which is the very similar dreams and subtle hallucinations experienced while drifting from sleep to wakefulness and known as Hypnapompia. Those short vivid dreams you keep getting when you repeatedly hit the snooze button on your alarm in the morning? That right there is called Hypnapompia.

It’s quite possible to harness these little dream like states and turn them into full blown realistic hallucinations that you can experience in bed before getting a good night’s rest in a fairly simple way. Literally all you have to do is try to block out external thought and quieten your mind until you are both conscious but so empty that your brain begins to fill in the lack of input with hallucinations that are identical to the short breakthrough scenarios experienced on substances such as DPH and Datura but without the god awful side effects. The most efficient way to do this is to simply get into a comfortable position that you can sleep in, resist absolutely all urge to move your body and block out your thoughts by concentrating on the act of breathing. Concentrate on the rhythm of your breathing and nothing else, it’s difficult at first as you end up going through cycles, you’ll block out all thought and think “Awesome! I’ve done it and I’m tripping balls!” but then you are immediately sent back to the beginning of the process all over again, with each attempt at letting go however it does become a little easier and your ability to jump right back in there can start to quicken after a few attempts on your first night trying.

This does require some practise but is still an easy thing to do and although it’s helped massively by falling asleep on the comedown of ANY drug it can still be done and practised while simply falling asleep sober (although with much more difficulty at first) and if you keep practising this skill as you drift off to sleep at night you will quickly begin to unlock huge amounts of previously unexplored territory in your mind.

An interesting thing about this simple version of sleep-drug meditation is that although the hallucinations are all generally equally realistic but at the same time dream like across substances, each one has a different style of hallucination. Experimenting with induced Hypnagogia after a long day of tripping or buzzing is a completely different experience from trying it sober or high despite still being similar in many ways.

After a hard nights buzzing on MDMA I can generally without even trying hard induce incredibly rich and detailed “social hallucinations” which usually consist of full blown everyday conversations with the people I was buzzing with a few hours earlier. They can however get very strange and are not limited to everyday things.

This method of inducing Hypnogogia even gives Deliriants a genuine application for Psychonauts as although 700mg will give you intensely realistic hallucinations whilst awake. You will feel like death the entire time and the hallucinations will almost always be negative because of the impossible to ignore bad vibes. 150mg however will leave you simply feeling drowsy with an ability to induce some intense Hypnogogic hallucinations as you go to bed, they are very detailed and indepth but much harder to remember and grab hold of even mere seconds after they happen when compared to doing this on other substances. This memory loss however is an unavoidable characteristic of deliriants.
For this purpose I would not recommend exceeding 150mg as it’s generally at 200mg of DPH that the negative side effects begin to kick in.

Trying this shit whilst falling asleep after a long day of tripping on LSD is an awesome experience. Even if you feel that the LSD has essentially completely gone from your system as you drift off to sleep the small amounts within you give the Hypnogogic Hallucinations complete free reign and make them very easy to remember. Once you push past the rapid fire thoughts and clear your mind from thought you will find yourself in hallucinations that can sometimes stay even after you realize that you are in a hallucination and begin to think again.

I can’t stress enough how realistic these scenarios that you are placed into are once you reach them, studies show that the experience of dreaming activates the same parts of the brain that a genuine experience does. This essentially means that that the scenarios are completely indistinguishable from reality usually right up until the moment that they are over and you realize “well that obviously didn’t happen!”.

The hallucinations can be essentially anything and once a little practised you can go through many of them in the short amount of time between getting into bed and actually falling asleep but to give you an example of the sort of scenarios that have played out for me and others who have been practising this here are a few random but notable hallucinations:

  • Being surrounded by normal people in an alleyway and conversing with them for minutes about who knows what.
  • Walking around a corner only to have two buses drive past either side of you at a very high speed.
  • Seeing a portrait LCD screen on my wall with an old man’s face displayed on it, staring down at me.
  • Playing perfectly normal Badminton (we’ve never played Badminton before in our lives) apart from the shuttlecock being a mass of visuals that flies into your face before snapping you out of the scenario.
  • Watching a perfectly comprehensible perfume advert only for it to zoom out and become one of those adverts at the beginning of youtube videos.
  • Thinking that you are walking on hard ground, only to be snapped out of it once you try to put your foot down and realize you’re lying in a bed.
  • Seeing a giant eye watching you from a massive screen in front of your face.
  • Thinking that you are able to look around your room or hear what is happening in it with your eyes closed, only to realize that the room is laid out completely differently once you snap out of it and check for accuracy (this has happened multiple times for me and to other people).

If this specific type of trip was a drug I do not know how I’d categorize it, it seems to be short delirious states that are induced for dissociative reasons (cutting yourself off from your senses).
It’s worth noting that me and my friends have literally been practising this for just a couple of weeks and not on a nightly basis. In the short amount of time I’ve been doing this I have so far improved up to the point where the scenarios are starting to last increasingly long amounts of time and I can’t imagine how easy this will eventually get in the months, years and decades to come.
This stuff requires concentration but is pretty easy once you start and is especially easy if you are falling asleep high, tripping, buzzing or whatever.

Personally, I cannot be bothered with the bullshit and effort of meditation, which relies on some similar principles anyway (minus the drugs and bed) but requires a lot of practise and time. This is something that works quickly as you are assisted by drugs and the fact that you are beginning to dream anyway and does not require much practise, hell it’s not like you’re busy when you’re falling asleep so you might as well do something constructive with that time.

If this works for you, I’d love to hear about the scenarios you’ve experienced so send me a message.

LSD Dosage Guide

I’ve gone up in 150 mic intervals here but the average tabs that most people have access to is usually around 100 mic but some are as poor as 60 and some are simply fake. Keep in mind that this hugely depends on set & setting as well as dosage and that It’s possible to break through on 150 mic by combining it with copious amounts of weed and easy to experience ego death at 450 by using a similar method.

150 micweak - This is where I would recommend most novices who are unsure of themselves start out. At this level a first time user will experience an intense body high, euphoria, increased brightness of colours, tracers, mild distortions and some weak closed eye visuals for those who are susceptible or have tripped a few times before.

300 micmoderate - This is where things start to get particularly psychedelic and is the dosage that should be recommended for those who are at least familiar with other drugs and confident enough in themselves to handle it. This is the level where obvious closed eye visuals begin to emerge and closed eye visuals such as distortions start to become intense.

450 micmoderate strong - Most people are not willing to go this far and consider two 150 mic hits of acid to be the standard trip. At this level the body high becomes quite overwhelming and closed eye visuals start to become intense enough to start subtly breaking apart the environment itself. For a first timer this level of tripping would almost certainly be too much.

600 mic- heavy - Your vision is almost completely enveloped by fractal patterns as it becomes difficult to see your hand in front of your face. An experienced user can still just about function with great difficulty at this level but a novice would be in an extreme state of terror and panic.

750 mic + - heroic - This is the point where it is generally considered that more acid makes less difference. At this point you can expect to be completely incapacitated and breakthrough into a bizarre dimension ruled by infinitely vast complex geometric patterns followed by utter annihilation of the ego.
